The fourth and perhaps final in a series of El Nino induced storm systems, is moving through the Southwest and Southern Nevada today. Rain, moderate to heavy at times, can be expected to continue through this evening before tapering off by Friday morning. A thunderstorm or two is also possible today, which may cause locally higher rainfall totals in some areas. Generally, .30-1.00 inches can be expected by tomorrow morning.
As an interesting side note, Neon Desert Weather reached the 1 inch mark for yearly rainfall, since January 1st 2010, at approximately 11:10am Thursday morning. In 2009 we did not reach the 1 inch total until July 21st. What a difference a year makes!
During this event, watch out for any flooding and stay out of washes and any areas where you are unsure of the water depth. Remember, "Turn around don't drown"
