On July 14, 2002...

Lightning started a fire in the Spring Mountains that would be named the Lost Cabin Fire. The fire burned 4340 acres and threatened 460 residences, 13 commercial properties, and 200 outbuildings. The fire was contained a week later on July 20th with no injuries or lost structures.
